Red BankRed Bank Average User Rating: (0 votes, add your vote or comments) Red Bank New Jersey is a little town on the Navesink River about 45 minutes south west of NYC and 80 minutes north of Atlantic City. Count Basie was born in Red Bank a century ago and the Count Basie Theatre is a landmark in town. Bruce Springsteen and Jon Bon Jovi also live on the outskirts of town. Because of its near Norman Rockwellian picturesque-ness, Red Bank has been a popular place for filmakers. The cult film Clerks was based on the real life experiences of movie director Kevin Smith at a Quick Stop convenience store out on Route 36. Visitors come to Red Bank for the 3-day waterfront jazz and blues festival that goes on in June each year. The town also prides itself in maintaining independently owned shops and restaurants rather than the ubiquitous retail chains one normally comes to expect. At Red Bank you can catch a Ray Charles concert or savor calamari salad with miso lime dressing at a trendy restaurant. Top of PageDo you know of a Place that should be included here?
